It is the goal of the EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) Compliance Monitor to work with every agency and institute of higher learning to ensure compliance is met and, in cases where compliance is not possible, to work to create an action plan. However, per Texas Labor Code Sec. 21.456, an agency or institute of higher learning that fails to comply will be reported to the Office of the Comptroller who will notify the agency that it is subject to monetary fines. After the Comptroller’s notification, the agency will have thirty (30) days to prove to the comptroller that they are compliant.
